The Lord’s Supper is for you who have put your trust in Christ alone for salvation and who are in unity with us or with a Bible believing church where you live.
If this is your first time in attendance at the Lord’s Supper with us, we have a high regard for the Lord’s Supper and partake in it with all seriousness and reverence toward the Lord our God and we hope that you will approach it with the same seriousness and reverence.
If, after examining yourself, you do take part in the Lord’s Supper, we do three things outwardly that declare our faith in Jesus Christ alone as Lord and Saviour:
First, when we receive the bread and wine in the Lord’s Supper, we solemnly declare that we trust in no other Lord and Saviour, we forsake all others, and we receive the Lord Jesus as our only Lord and Saviour.
Second, we eat the bread and drink from the cup to acknowledge our own helplessness and weakness in gaining redemption from our sin, and salvation to eternal life. We also remember that Jesus Christ died bodily on the cross, shed his blood for the forgiveness of our sins and took our sin from us in His own body on the cross.
Third, we commune by sharing the bread and wine with each other. When we share the bread and the cup together, it is a solemn declaration that we are one in Christ.
If you come to the Lord’s Supper for these purposes, trust in Christ alone for salvation, and are in the unity of Christ with us, please come to the Lord’s table for the Lord’s Supper with all seriousness and reverence toward the Lord our God
Even if you don’t participate in the Lord’s Supper you are more than welcome to stay and watch.
